southeast Open
THIS IS AN OPEN TOURNAMENT. Tournament administrators let anyone compete in either division (even though one is called the Freshman/Sophomore division), thus it is an OPEN in which athletes can compete unattached without triggering a season of competition.
The 2023 Southeast Open is our 14th season-opening tournament. Debuting as the Hokie Open in 2008 and continuing with that name through 2015, then as the Southeast Open in 2016, and once again as the Hokie Open in 2017 & 2018 and now continuing in 2023 as the Southeast Open.
Established in 2008, this tournament was initially just an idea on a notepad and has grown to be one of the best season-opening college tournaments in the country. The level of competition has risen along with the profile of collegiate wrestling in the Commonwealth of Virginia, taking mid-Atlantic collegiate wrestling to a new level. This tournament is the perfect start for seasoned veterans as well as new or unseasoned college wrestlers. Opportunities make champions!
EVENT DATE: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2023, AT ROANOKE COLLEGE'S CREGGER CENTER IN SALEM, VA
We will also be using FloArena tournament software to run the tournament, so coaches and fans can follow mat assignments and results.
