Hokie Open

Wrestling Tournament (formerly the Southeast Open)

EVENT DATE: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2017 AT THE BERGLUND CENTER IN ROANOKE, VA

We will also be using FloArena tournament software to run the tournament, so coaches and fans can follow mat assignments and results.

THIS IS AN OPEN TOURNAMENT.  Tournament administrators let anyone compete in either division (even though one is called the Freshman/Sophomore  division), thus it is an open in which athletes can compete unattached without triggering a season of competition.

tournament details

The 2017 Hokie Open is the 10th annual season-opening tournament we've run, as the Hokie Open from 2008 through 2015, then THE Southeast Open in 2016 and now continuing in 2017 as the Hokie Open.

Established in 2008, this tournament was initially just an idea on a notepad and has grown to be one of the best season-opening college tournaments in the country. The level of competition has risen along with the profile of collegiate wrestling in the Commonwealth of Virginia, taking mid-Atlantic collegiate wrestling to a new level. This tournament is the perfect start for seasoned veterans as well as new or unseasoned college wrestlers. Opportunities make champions!
